USFWS Selects TotalConnex for Next Gen System Deployment
June 22, 2017
The Federal Wildlife Officers of U.S. Department of the Interior, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 8, are becoming the first DOI and Agency recipients of Cinetcomm’s TotalConnex Network. Region 8 is an area encompassing portions of 4 states – Southern Oregon, California, Western Arizona and Southern Nevada.
The wildlife officers have been plagued with spotty or non-existent communications when trying to maintain contact with their Dispatch, as well as among themselves during operations. The TotalConnex Network will provide full coverage across the region via a blended architecture of existing 2-way radio, 3G/4G/LTE and mobile satellite. This IP-centric network will provide 2-way radio, broadband data and vehicle/officer tracking connectivity on a least-cost routed, best available quality of service architecture, with no user intervention.
“We are honored to have been selected for this mission critical application” stated Tom Soumas, Cinetcomm President & CEO. “These officers will join our other Agency and Military customers who enjoy seamless connectivity wherever they are required to operate, without limits”.
Installations will commence during July, with full deployment across the Region by August 31.
