Satellite phone or telephone via satellite? Cinetcomm provides both! Here are the choices:

SatPhones or Satellite Phones are Mobile Satellite Service (MSS) devices, typically utilized for the sole purpose of making dial-up calls when you’re “remote” or in an emergency situation and unable to use normal terrestrial networks. In North America, you can get Iridium or Inmarsat satellite phones and network services. Overseas you can add Thuraya satellite phones to the mix. There are a wide variety of satellite phones and docking stations that enable installation in a building, boat, or airplane if you don’t want to just carry it around.

Telephone via satellite services is provided with all Cinetcomm VSAT systems that provide data, video, and other services. It is simply a normal call using a typical home or office style instruments. Satellite phones are full-featured and can be a single line or entire group with direct-dial 10 digit numbers. Office-style services with features (including voice mail, 3-way calling, call waiting, etc.) are provided with each line.

Cinetcomm offers three mobile satellite phone systems. This includes Inmarsat’s IsatPhone 2, Iridium’s 9555 and Thuraya’s XT (in the Middle East and Asia).

Inmarsat IsatPhone 2

  • Emergency Assistance:

    Any IsatPhone 2 customers on monthly plans have access to free-of-charge worldwide emergency assistance from GEOS. A single push of the assistance button will send a message to the GEOS 24/7 emergency response center, who will liaise with the most appropriate emergency services to get you the help you need.

  • User Inerface:

    The IsatPhone 2 has an easy-to-use interface, with a large, high-visibility, scratch-resistant transflective display that’s readable even in bright sunlight.

Iridium 9555

  • Unlimited Calling Plans:

    Iridium offers unlimited calling plans for any Iridium to Iridium devices which include no roaming charges, unlimited flat-rate calling between Iridium handsets, and truly global coverage.

    The Iridium 9555 packs a lot of power into a small handset. With an industrial-grade design, a compact, hand-friendly form factor, and aerodynamic features such as an internally stowed antenna, this sleek yet durable satellite phone is designed to easily go wherever you go.

    The Iridium 9555 has all of the voice and data features you have come to expect, plus up to (4) hours of talk time, (30) hours of standby, improved SMS and email messaging capability, an integrated speakerphone, and an upgraded mini-USB data port.

  • Convenient Calling Plans:

    Iridium Voice Services offer a variety of calling plans designed to meet the needs of customers using Iridium satellite phones. Whether you prefer the convenience of a prepaid plan or the peace of mind of a postpaid plan, the choice is yours.

Thuraya XT

  • Compact Design:

    The Thuraya XT will meet your mobility requirements in the harshest of environments. The phone is preferred by a wide range of users including adventurers and corporate users for its portability.

  • Walk and Talk:

    The Thuraya XT has an advanced Omni-directional antenna for an uninterrupted signal during non-stationary calls, offering a ‘walk-and-talk’ experience.

  • Extended Battery Life:

    The Thuraya XT’s battery provides up to 6 hours of talk-time and up to 80 hours of standby time. A brightness sensor is built-in for the display to reduce battery consumption.

  • Satellite Internet:

    The Thuraya XT satellite phone has a GmPRS capability which allows user access to satellite internet. This means users can browse the web with their laptop or PC from wherever they are.
