CINETCOMM BEGINS RENOVATION AND UPGRADES TO HISTORIC ATLANTA INTERNATIONAL TELEPORT

December 3, 2017 – Douglasville, GA

Cinetcomm has commenced a total site infrastructure upgrade at the historic Atlanta International Teleport in Douglasville, Georgia.  This nine acre facility is one of the oldest operating teleports in North America and has won numerous awards throughout it’s 39 year operating history.

“This recently acquired facility will provide the primary backbone for Cinetcomm’s Public Safety satellite networks operating in North America and beyond”. stated Tom Soumas, Cinetcomm’s President & CEO. “These renovations will be extensive, and will include antenna, facility and equipment additions and upgrades”.

Antenna additions scheduled for 2018 include five 3.7 meter Ku-Band transmit/receive dishes, 9 meter Ku-Band, 9 meter C-Band, along with their respective RF chains, as well as a variety of replacement 4 meter+ multi-beam feed receive-only dishes to replace aged antennas and modernize the teleports High-Def Receive infrastructure.

A new Secure Network Operations Center will be constructed within an existing building that currently houses satellite operations control.  Power systems and generator infrastructure will undergo heavy maintenance and upgrades to bring the facility back online with a fresh face and resilient operational capabilities.

Primary infrastructure work should be completed by July 2018, with antenna installations continuing throughout the balance of the year.
