The United States Department of the Interior, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Desert Southwest Region 8 has gone operational with Cinetcomm’s TotalConnex hybrid network solution across this three state region for federal wildlife officers. Region 8s primary operating area encompasses wildlife refuges across Southern Oregon, Nevada and California. An LTE/Satellite combined 2-way radio hub for officer coordination has been established at the U.S.D.A. Forest Service Interagency Dispatch Center in El Cajon, California.
Cinetcomm has also built a multi-channel 2-way radio system, is providing broadband data service and is tracking the officer’s vehicles as they operate across this very diverse region using the TotalConnex hybrid 3G/4G/LTE/Satellite backbone.
“The TotalConnex platform provides Region 8 officers with an all encompassing suite of services through a single system, something never achieved in the past.” stated Tom Soumas, Cinetcomm’s President & CEO. “This is just the beginning, as we expect to gain further functionality between USFWS’ existing radio network and ours working together on advanced initiatives”.
This TotalConnex implementation is one of many continuing projects underway within the Public Safety community to create a safer working environment for remotely dispersed officers, firefighters and EMTs across vast rural distances in the Western United States.
